These corroborating reports were quoted by al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar (may Allah have mercy on him) in Fath al-Bari (6/610); he classed as hasan the hadith of Samurah ibn Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him), then he said: What is meant by fighting the Jews is that this will happen when the Dajjal emerges and ‘Eesa descends. End quote.
Context: This is a duʿāʾ the Prophet ﷺ taught the best of his Companions, Abū Bakr al-Ṣiddīq (may Allah be pleased with him). al-Tirmidhī narrates that Abū Bakr said: “O Messenger of Allah, teach me what to say in the morning and in the evening.” He ﷺ said: “Say: ‘O Allah, Originator of the heavens and the earth…”

Answer. Praise be to Allah. Firstly: A long life in which a believer does righteous deeds is better for him than death. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The best of people is the one who lives long and does good.”. Narrated by Ahmad and al-Tirmidhi, 110; classed as saheeh by al-Albani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi.
That is because sending blessings upon him involves mentioning Allah and venerating His Messenger, and being preoccupied with fulfilling his rights, thus being distracted from one’s own aims and goals. End quote. Mirqaat al-Mafaateeh Sharh Mishkaat al-Masaabeeh (4/16-17) Ibn ‘Allaan al-Bakri (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

Rabee‘ah ibn Ka‘b al-Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: I used to stay overnight with the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and bring him water for wudoo’ and whatever he needed. He ﷺ said to me: “ Ask .”. I said: I ask to be with you in Paradise.

Abdullah ibn al-‘As reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, “Show mercy and you will be shown mercy. Forgive and Allah will forgive you. Woe to the vessels that catch words (i.e. the ears). Woe to those who persist and consciously continue in what they are doing.” [Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 380] Aisha reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “ Whoever seeks the pleasure of Allah by the displeasure of people, Allah will suffice him against the people. Whoever seeks the pleasure of people by the displeasure of Allah, Allah will leave him to the patronage of the people. ”. عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ri29gd.
