Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (a.s.) said that in the prayer of Shafa’a (in Salaatul-layl) one should recite Surah al-Falaq in the first rak’aat and an-Naas in the second. Surah an-Naas (The Man) This Surah was revealed in Madinah and it has 6 ayaat. Surah an-Naas and al-Falaq are together called Ma’udhatayn.
The third Qul comprises Surah Falaq, the second-largest Surah of the Quran. There are five verses in the Surah put together as chapter 113 th of the Holy Quran. The name is in the first verse of Surah Al Falaq, meaning dawn or daybreak. The use of the scientific phenomena of sunrise represents the all-encompassing nature of the Holy Quran.To clear home/workplace from evil spirits recite Surah An-Naas 100 times daily for 40 days. For peaceful sleep and to protect oneself from nightmares and ghosts, recite Surah An-Naas 17 times before going to bed. To save oneself from the tyranny of a ruler/chief, recite Surah An-Naas frequently after Isha for a few days.
It is important to note that while reciting Surah Falaq holds numerous benefits, it is essential to have faith, sincerity, and a pure intention while doing so. Regular recitation, understanding the meaning, and reflecting upon its teachings can further amplify the benefits and protection it provides. It is a Surah to be recited by the authority in the five (compulsory) prayers. This Surah praises Almighty Allah and thus, it has the status of Ibadah (worship). It consists of 7 verses.
